AM New Careers Scheme
Our New Careers Scheme campaign for 2023 is now closed. Please connect to us and you will be notified when our 2024 campaign goes live.
The New Careers Scheme is an alternative to our existing Editorial Pathway
Looking for an alternative to Editorial roles?
At AM we have a long established successful career pathway within our Editorial teams. We are fortunate to attract outstanding candidates for both our entry and mid level Editorial roles. However, the digital publishing industry requires additional skills outside of, yet sympathetic to, the Editorial team. We often need to look outside of our current team to recruit talented professionals from the fields of Sales, Marketing & Engagement as well as Product and Business Analysis. The New Careers Scheme is designed to grow our own talent in those areas through the AM colleague experience.
New Careers Scheme Example pathway
Onboarding
At AM we build a full onboarding programme around your first weeks in the organisation. You will gain a full overview of AM and get to know your key contacts and stakeholders. The onboarding and induction experience will involve a range of activities from team lunches, buddy coffees and departmental introductions. By the end of your first weeks you will feel embedded in the organisation and ready to start your rotations through the business.
Rotations commence
Your journey through the organisation begins. You will bring your existing skills and knowledge to each rotation, learning about the business from end to end. Each step along the pathway will provide a vital and unique insight to build a complete picture of AM, how we work, and the lifecycle of our products.
Editorial rotation

This will lead to an insight and understanding of our usage reports and you will become skilled in responding to our customers technical and product based queries.
Sales rotation
Our Sales teams are responsible for selling our Discover and Learn propositions to academic institutions across the globe. We build partnerships with customers to better understand their collection development requirements and to identify opportunities where purchasing AM collections could support their university’s teaching and research. During your time with us you will have the opportunity to network with librarians and academics at conferences, present to customers in sales meetings as well as completing new business campaigns to universities across EMEA. You will research university programs and help align our published material to the interests of academics. You will collaborate on meetings and workshops that introduce our collections and get students and faculty using them. You will review data and feedback that helps us understand how the collections are being used and frames our future work. By the end of your rotation with Engagement you’ll have developed communication and presentation skills, and put critical thinking and problem solving abilities into action.
Marketing rotation
The AM marketing team works globally to promote our innovative and market-leading primary source collections and technology to the academic community. As part of our collaborative and driven team you’ll learn about marketing trends and gain experience in leveraging internal and external expertise to inform marketing strategies that drive growth. No two days are ever the same. So whether its writing copy for a new email campaign, or researching topics for an upcoming global webinar, you’ll be working closely with teams across the business, from sales and engagement to platform and customer support, to raise awareness of AM and Discover, Learn and Create propositions.
Optional final rotation
By the final part of your pathway you will have had the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders across our key commercial departments. The relationships you will have forged and the natural strengths you will have developed will help us work with you to identify the best opportunity for your final rotation.
